Clive Edward is not your average 7-year-old Cocker Spaniel. Every day, he helps his owner Michelle Rust, 32, from Thorngumbald, East Riding, manage a condition known as Addison’s disease which leaves her lacking energy and appetite and experiencing muscle weakness.
Before she had Clive, Ms Rust regularly called an ambulance for assistance but for the last three years, she hasn't had to. The pair have been together for seven years and he was trained to be a medical alert dog at the age of one.
‘He’s saved my life on many occasions,’ says his owner Michelle. ‘He’s my knight in shining armour, my best friend.
‘We’re together 24/7. I’m thankful we found each other when we did – I only wish he’d be around forever!’ You’ll see Clive Edward, the worthy winner, and his owner Michelle pictured below.
Clive recently underwent major spinal surgery, and stunned everybody when he made a full recovery – so determined he was to continue looking after his owner.
Congratulations, Clive Edward, you’re an inspiration everyone at Pet Health Club HQ. We hope you enjoy your prize, one year’s membership to the Pet Health Club dog plan, plus a year’s supply of scrumptious Nature’s Range pet food.
